Mr. Kerry M. Wallis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in four states (New York, Florida, Texas, and North Carolina) with more than 37 years of clinical practice. He is the founder of Scarlett Begonias Training Institute (Scarlett BegoniasTI) and the creator of our EMDRIA-approved EMDR training Course. Kerry was initially trained in EMDR in 2009 by Ms. Diane Clayton. In 2013, he became a Certified EMDR therapist. Since 2015, Kerry has been an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

Kerry started working towards becoming an independent trainer with EMDRIA accreditation in 2024. Kerry’s basic training approach include skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience. When teaching EMDR, he provides the most efficient techniques to help clinicians learn and implement the EMDR approach into their clinical work.

Pre-licensed and graduate students are eligible to enroll

We strongly support pre-licensed clinicians enrolling in our accredited training in EMDR therapy. We offer a significantly reduced rate to pre-licensed clinicians. All pre-licensed clinicians, both pre-grads and graduates can enroll in the Scarlett Begonias Training Institute EMDR training program. You must submit a letter of support from your clinical supervisor along with your other application materials. Online Content Management System

We use an online content management system like those used in colleges and universities to provide access to the training manual, discussion boards, Zoom meeting links, and our library of clinical practice forms and scripts. Our accrediting professional association, the EMDR International Association, has instituted a requirement for learning assessment in EMDR training. Participants can take each test up to three times to obtain passing scores. We provide page references where the answer can be found for each question, so these tests serve as study guides to essential EMDR theory and procedures. They are based on the two required textbooks and the participant manual. These study guides and our online learning system are additional ways in which we continue to strengthen our EMDR training programs.

Zoom-based training

All our basic EMDR training programs since 2020 have been held via Zoom for all training elements — lecture, consultation, group, and paired practice exercises. We have the EMDR International Association to offer our future EMDR training programs via Zoom.
