Scarlett Begonias Training Institute is an EMDRIA Approved training provider. You can view our approval status on our website scarlettbegoniastraininginstitute.com

WHAT DOES “EMDRIA APPROVED” MEAN?

EMDRIA sets the standards and grants approval to individuals or organizations to provide EMDR Training. They are called EMDR Training Providers. EMDRIA does not provide EMDR Training directly to clinicians.

Yes, the 10 hours of group consultation is included.

Participants must complete the 40-hour EMDR training course, and the 10 hours of group consultation plus the Learner Assessment, within 1 year from the initial start date. If participants do not complete the training and completion requirements within 1 year, they are required to re-take the training course in its entirety.

After the completion of the full 40 hours of EMDR Training, you will become an EMDR trained clinician, and you will receive a document of course completion.

An EMDR Certification requires additional continuing education and consultation in EMDR. The EMDR Certified Clinician is a separate process that begins after you have received your basic training document of course completion.

  • No. After completed the 40-hour Basic Training you are ready to start using EMDR with clients.
  • You do not have to become certified. It is an optional certification.
  • Certification fees are separate and apart from any basic training fees and are not part of EMDR Consulting’s training program.
  • For more information about certification, please read EMDRIA’s current certification criteria and FAQ.

To become a Certified EMDR Practitioner:

  • Become fully trained in an EMDRIA Approved EMDR training course and have received a certificate of completion.
  • The applicant must be licensed or certified in their profession with a minimum of two years’ experience in that profession.
  • The applicant must complete 20 more hours of consultation in EMDR by an EMDRIA approved consultant
  • The applicant must also complete a minimum of 50 clinical therapy sessions with at least 25 different clients in which EMDR is utilized
  • The applicant must also complete 12 hours of continuing education in EMDR, and every two years must maintain an active certification status.
In a structured group format guided by a consultant, group consultation involves a minimum of two consultees in a formalized environment. It is anticipated that each consultee in the group will take part and be ready to contribute their content for discussion regarding their EMDR case presentation. According to EMDRIA guidelines, groups should allow a minimum of 15 minutes for each participant.
Although you may discuss a wide range of issues throughout your 10-hour appointment, EMDRIA expects you to provide selected case studies.
A consultant-to-trainee ratio should not be greater than 1:10, according to EMDRIA criteria (lower consultant-to-trainee ratios are preferred). Generally speaking, organizations ought to allot 15 minutes for each participant. As a result, the following ratios apply to the sizes of our consultation groups: Maximum of 4-6 people per one-hour group consultation 1.5-hour group consultation with a maximum of 6–8 people Two hours of group consultation with a maximum of eight to ten people Group consultation lasting 2.5 hours, with a maximum of 10 participants Each participant is expected to provide case material when group time is not distributed equally among consultees. This ensures that every consultee in the group participates in regular EMDR therapy as well as watches their peers perform it.

No, consultation starts after you have received some EMDR portion of your training (after Part 1 of the 2-Part training or after completing the entire five days of the 5-Day Intensive training).

After attending all four parts of EMDR Basic Training, you can start scheduling.

After attending all four parts of EMDR Basic training, call or email Mr. Kerry M. Wallis at 914-705-3538 or [email protected]

To best meet your clinical needs, arrange and space out your consultation appointments. The completion of the 10 hours within the allotted 12-month period is the only prerequisite.
Therefore, we ask that you complete all 10 hours of basic training consultation with Scarlett Begonias Training Institute’s experts to ensure consistency in your learning and to comply with EMDRIA criteria.
You must record your 10 hours of consultation on your consultation sign-off sheet. Put the date, duration, and consultant name on your consultation sign-off document, regardless of how the consultation is carried out.
No. The majority of our consultations take place by virtual conference call or over the phone. Participants will usually prefer Zoom.
No, continuing education credit is not available for the consultation portion of the EMDR training course.
Yes, the ten hours of group consulting are included in the registration price.
Even if you are the only person on the call, the session must still be held by the consultants from Scarlett Begonias Training Institute. The only amount deducted from your pre-paid consultation account is the hour spent on the call.
Kindly cancel via your account at least 24 hours before the consultation session’s scheduled start time to avoid incurring a late cancellation fee. If a participant cancels less than 24 hours before the session is supposed to start, our consultation scheduling system automatically marks them as a “late cancellation.” The consultant reserves the right to subtract the hour for the participants who are recorded as late cancelers, no-shows, arriving late, or leaving early.
We sincerely regret the oversight. This won’t be charged to you, and it won’t be used against you. Kindly let [email protected] know if you have encountered this when working with a consultant.
Within 12 months (1 year) of their original start date, participants must finish the whole EMDR training course, which consists of 10 hours of group consultation and the 45-question EMDRIA Learner Assessment. Participants must retake the full training course if they do not finish the training and completion requirements within a year.
Send your signed consultation sign-off page by fax to 305-647-0680 or by email to [email protected]
