EMDR Basic Training
Join us at Scarlett Begonias for a comprehensive EMDR training, available both in-person and online. This course fully complies with the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) standards for a Basic Training Course in EMDR. As a specialized therapeutic approach, EMDR requires supervised training to ensure maximum effectiveness and client safety. The program includes a combination of lectures, live demonstrations, video presentations, and supervised practice sessions. Over the span of three months, participants will attend four weekend sessions, each lasting two days. Additionally, the course provides the ten hours of required consultation to help trainees effectively incorporate EMDR into their clinical practice.
This training equips clinicians with the essential knowledge and skills needed to apply EMDR therapy, offering a thorough grasp of case conceptualization, treatment planning, and the integration of EMDR into clinical practice. An EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training in EMDR includes, at minimum, instruction on the latest explanatory models, methodologies, and foundational mechanisms of EMDR, delivered through lectures, hands-on practice, and integrated consultation. The program also features an interactive learning management system to support your online learning throughout the entire training process.
The curriculum offers an overview of EMDR and its historical development. At Scarlett Begonias, the course covers in-depth explanations of the neurobiological foundations of EMDR, the Eight Phases of EMDR therapy, and the three-pronged approach that addresses past events, current issues, and future situations. By the end of the training, participants will have applied the Adaptive Information Processing model, demonstrated the eight phases of EMDR, and learned how to use EMDR with specialized populations. The training also includes the latest research in neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, trauma, complex trauma, polyvagal theory, and more. Graduates of our program will have the option to join EMDRIA and work towards EMDRIA Certification.
